Sustainable Rice Initiative
The Sustainable Rice Initiative (SRI) is a method of rice production that aims to increase productivity while reducing the use of inputs such as seeds, water, and chemical fertilizers. SRI is a pilot project to generate incremental income for paddy farmers in the Nizamabad district. The farmers grow rice using minimum natural resources and maintain soil biodiversity through alternative wetting and drying systems.
